Chinese food is a very general term used to describe the cuisines of China. China is a very large country and each province has its own special dishes and way of cooking.

The four most popular styles of Chinese food are Cantonese, Szechuan, Mandarin and Shanghai. Outside of China the most popular of all is Cantonese. Dim Sum is to Cantonese cuisine as tapas are to Spanish, small portions of a variety of food. It is a great way to sample a lot of different dumplings and other treats.

Chinese food is available in restaurants around the world and is also something that can be made at home. It has a universal appeal.
